James Bodanis (U16 ‘AA’)

James Bodanis is a native of Toronto, Ontario and has lived in Newmarket for the past 25 years.  Prior to coaching, his hockey experiences include playing ‘AAA’ for eight seasons in the MTHL (now GTHL) with the Don Mills Flyers, Toronto Red Wings, Wexford Raiders and St. Michaels Majors.  James started his coaching career in the GTHL, working three years with the Willowdale Blackhawks organization. 
After moving to Newmarket, James started coaching in the Newmarket Minor Hockey Association and has been coaching at various age groups for the last 12 years, most recently with our 2007 ‘AA’ group for the past two seasons.  Following the 2011-12 season, James was honored with the
NMHA Representative “Coach of the Year” Award and his coaching philosophy is one of teamwork, skill development, and fun.  
He is committed to excellence as a coach, and strives to get the best out of every single player.
