NMHA Registration

Online registration for 2019– 2020 season closed on July 31 2019.

To register now, you will need to contact our office either by email [email protected] or phone 905-
898-0714 or you can come to our office in person during business hours. Under About Us you will
find the Off Season Office Hours.

We still have spots in all divisions and when these are filled, your child will be placed on a wait list.

General Registration Information:

Registration for the 2019-2020 season is open to players born in the years 1999 through to 2015.
In accordance with Hockey Canada children born in 2012 will now be in a division called Minor
Novice (formerly known as Tyke).

We recommend that new players be somewhat comfortable on skates, able to navigate themselves
across the ice with minimal assistance and to get up on their own when they fall down. Our
experience has shown that when a first time player feels they have a chance to move with the play
then they are more likely to enjoy the experience.

Every house league division is on the ice twice a week. Our House League hockey program
operates on Saturdays & Sundays for divisions Initiation up to Bantam. New this year, in the
Bantam division, number of practices will be reduced and more games added starting in January.
The Minor Midget division plays two games a week on Sunday and Tuesday, and our Midget /
Juvenile division plays Sunday and Monday. We try to keep the ice times consistent throughout the
season, but game / practice schedules are subject to change and there is no guarantee of a weekly
practice and/or game due to ice availability. While we won’t know for sure until we finalize our
yearly ice contract with the town, we try our best to keep the times consistent with the previous
year. HL schedule is not finalized until August.

NOTE: Game/Practice schedules are subject to change and there is no guarantee of a weekly
practice and game due to ice availability.

PARENT RESPECT IN SPORT - Mandatory Requirement for your child to be eligible to
play (Important for New Players Only)

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) mandates that at least one parent must complete
the Parent Respect in Sport Program as "a condition of participation" for their child or children
registered with NMHA. In other words, if at least one parent does not complete the course your
son/s and/or daughter/s will be ineligible to play in all hockey programs - House League, Rep, MD,
Select and Rostered Select until such time this one-hour online education course has been
successfully completed.

NOTE: The Respect in Sport– Activity Leader certification for team officials does not meet the
parent requirement.  The certification for the parent is tailored to the Role of the parent, providing
information specific to the parental involvement, while the Activity Leader program has a different
focus.   The RIS - Activity Leader certification is uploaded to the individual’s profile.  The RIS –
Parent certification is uploaded to the players (child’s) profile.

A one-time fee of $12 plus tax per family will apply. It takes about one hour to complete and must
be completed by Sept 1st.

This course only needs to be done once, so it you took it last year or in a previous year, you do not
need to take it again.
