Commemorative Jersey for “Coach”
On November 25 the NMHA was proud to present Mrs. Linda Kelly with a commemorative jersey honoring her late husband Kirk ‘Coach’ Kelly. Assisting the NMHA President Lynda Carusi, was our HL Alternate VP for the Junior divisions, Joey Wilson. Kirk was a huge influence in Joey’s life.
Prior to Joey becoming a player for the Newmarket Hurricanes, he was coached by Kirk and was inspired to volunteer as a NMHA Executive member as a way of giving back to his community, as Kirk had done throughout his life.
Many will ask why #5? #5 was Kirk’s jersey number when he grew up as a hockey player. It was simply, his number and it became his son’s number as well while Martin grew up playing hockey in the NMHA.
