2020 OMHA Champions - NMHA Midget ‘AA’ & Atom ‘AE’
Midget ‘AA’ - OMHA CO-CHAMPIONS

This year’s Midget ‘AA’ team was the definition of 'perseverance' and commitment to 'team.’  On October 25, 2019 this team played their fifth game with a full roster and that was the final time they would do so during the 2019-20 season.  In total, they played 44 games with a short bench, but those challenges just seemed to make this team more focused.  When the playoffs started, ‘perseverance’ and ‘team first’ attitude all came together. This translated into a 10-0 playoff run before the season was unfortunately shutdown. The run this team was on was absolutely special.

We wish all the best to our 11 players who have now completed their minor hockey careers. It wasn't the ending we all envisioned, but you can still rightfully call yourselves OMHA Champions with pride.

Congratulations to our Midget ‘AA’ team on earning the title of OMHA Champions.

Atom ‘AE’ - OMHA CO-CHAMPIONS

This Atom team had a rocky start to the season as their early bird tournament in Markham played to a record of 0W, 3L, 1T.  They had a lot of work to do, but the goal was always to be ready for playoffs.  These boys needed to learn how to be a team first, then the wins would come.  The team started to see some success during the season as they were finalists in their Oshawa tournament - losing to Oshawa 2-1 in the championship game. Then in Lake Placid, another finalist result, falling to Yale in the Final with 14 seconds left in triple OT.

These “Oh So Close” finishes did not hinder the team’s development, but helped fuel the fire within.  During the first round of the playoffs, they started their attack by defeating Bradford and Barrie (the 1st place team with a record of 22-1-3), not once, not twice - but three times and they tied game four, 0-0!!  Onto the next round versus King.   Unfortunately, they lost the first game and this once again fueled the fire within these boys to win the next three games to clinch the series. This marked a huge accomplishment to make the OMHA Semi Final against Ajax.  This semi-final went down to wire in game five on the road.  These mighty Atoms dug deep and played hard for one another to beat Ajax 6-0, clinching a spot in the OMHA Final versus West Niagara.

Congratulations tour Atom AE team on earning the title of OMHA Champions.
