Congratulations to the Redmen Peewee
AA Team winning the Kawartha Lakes Early Bird Tournament September 15th
– 17th, 2017.
The Peewee’s were also Silver Medalists the previous weekend in the Orangeville Early Bird losing a very close final 2-1 in the final few minutes of play. Despite the heartbreaking loss in Orangeville, the team came out determined and focused to challenge for top spot at the Kawartha event.
The Peewee AA team went undefeated in the Preliminary Round outscoring their opponents 19-2 in the first 4 games. In the Semi Finals, the Redmen outdueled Hamilton Huskies 3-0 to earn a berth in the Championship game later that day vs the hometown Peterborough Petes. The Final was a close game with both teams playing extremely hard, however in the end, the Redmen closed out the game with a 3-1 victory to take home the Gold! During the Kawartha event, it should be noted that over the 6 games, the Redmen only allowed 3 goals against, including 4 straight shutout victories while scoring 25 goals against their opponents.
