After coming up short in their first two games, the Newmarket Redmen Minor Midget A ran the table and won their next 5 games, gaining a 4-2 victory over New Hamburg in the final to become Silver Stick Champions! 7 games in 55 hours!
With competition from places like Colorado, Pennsylvania and New Mexico, and backed by rock-solid goaltending, the Redmen played committed and unselfish hockey, had contribution from each and every player, and overcame a short bench and several injuries to claim title to one of North America's most prestigious hockey tournaments.
Well done, boys! You represented the NMHA and the Redmen family well!
