U10AA RENEGADES ARE ON THEIR WAY TO THE OMHA CHAMPIONSHIPS!!
The Newmarket Renegades U10 'AA' punched their ticket to the 2024 OMHA Championship with a thrilling 4-3 double overtime victory vs. the King Rebellion.

After falling in game one, 5-2, the Renegades bounced back on home ice with a 2-0 shutout victory in game two to even the series, setting-up a winner-take-all game three in Nobleton.

With a jam-packed arena, Renegades fans were treated to heart-stopping contest, that ultimately saw the Renegades upset the second place Rebellion to earn their spot in the OMHA's.

Trailing 1-0 in the 1st, Wes Lyons notched a power play marker to even the score and the game would remain knotted at one until midway through the 3rd period.  The Rebellion notched a couple of quick goals to take a 3-1 lead with just five minutes remaining in the game, but the 'Never-Say-Die' Renegades quickly regrouped and set their sights on the comeback.

Holden Bremaud started the comeback with a power play marker at 4:20 of the third period and with the goalie pulled for an extra attacker, the 'Cardiac Kids' struck again as Jordan West knotted the game at three with just 24 seconds left on the clock.

The referees put away the whistles through the loud and emotion-filled overtime periods that ended with 2:31 remaining in the second OT when Beckett Silvestri found himself all alone at the top of the crease and went bar-down to punch the Renegades ticket to the OMHA Championship in Oakville.

The coaching staff cannot be more proud of the dedication, commitment and effort put forth by the entire group to achieve their goals this season!
